Following the Iron striker’s vital match-winning double brace against Les Parry’s Tranmere in the Iron’s 4-2 win against the Wirral side: Bobby Grant has been rewarded.

For his performance against Scunthorpe’s old adversaries, and in particular his 2 goals, has meant that the Scouse forward has been included in the N-Power League One team of the week.

With a panel of experts selecting the 11 players they believe played best over the weekend’s action, it’s fantastic to see the Iron’s top scorer getting some deserved credit.

This is following his 2 goal brace, a long-range curler and penalty respectively, during Scunthorpe’s home 4-2 victory over Les Parry’s Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

This is the 2nd time that the Scouse frontman has been rewarded with this honour this season – for it also occured after his first double brace – during the Iron’s 2-2 draw away to Chris Powell’s top of the table Charlton Athletic back in August.

Alongside Scunny’s midfield Irish dynamo Michael O’Connor: Bobby is one of only two players to have featured in the Divisional Team of the Week so far this season.

What with it occuring every time he bags a double brace, let’s all get praying we find ourselves writing the same article very, very often!

Starting with the Iron’s away trip to Lee Bradbury’s Bournemouth this Saturday – and stretching into the hinterlands of the League One 2011/2012 season..

Up the Iron!
