Scunthorpe United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Tom Hopper in the Easter Weekend six nil victory over Swindon Town at the weekend at Glanford Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Hopper was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘New Scunthorpe United boss Graham Alexander had a home debut to remember as he saw his side put six past Swindon Town on Easter Monday. There were plenty of candidates for the Team of the Week, but Hopper gets the nod after netting a brace for the Iron.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Hopper for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Trevor Carson (Hartlepool United), George Williams (Barnsley), Brian Wilson (Oldham Athletic), Michael Harriman (Wycombe Wanderers), Kyle Bennett (Portsmouth), Scott Brown (Accrington Stanley), Jason Kennedy (Carlisle United), Gavin Massey (Colchester United), Tom Hopper (Scunthorpe United), Jamille Matt (Plymouth Argyle), Ollie Watkins (Exeter).

Manager – Phil Parkinson (Bradford City).
