Scunthorpe 3-1 Carlisle
12th February 2013

Glanford Park

Scunthorpe’s Glanford Park has suddenly become a fortress with The Iron recorded another home win over Carlisle on a special Tuesday night.

By the time the game had reached it’s midway point of the first half Scunthorpe were already two-up thanks to goals from Akpo Sodje (17) and Paul Reid (22).

With the half time break looming Carlisle got back into the game when James Berrett’s (45+1) effort squeezed under Iron keeper Sam Slocombe, however only the post denied Sodje restoring the two-goal cushion immediately.

Scunthorpe came close to extending their lead in the second half with Slocombe making amends for the Carlisle goal with a couple of good saves.

Deep into injury time Sodje (90+2) raced clear to continue his fine goalscoring form and seal a 3-1 win for The Iron, seeing the hosts celebrate their 100-years as a professional club on a high and make it three wins in a week at Glanford Park having only managed this once prior!
