Steve Mildenhall has been signed on loan by Brian Laws, in doing so he becomes the first signing made by Brian Laws since his return as Scunthorpe manager.

The keeper, as he told official website, didn’t have too much to think about: ‘Last Tuesday we (Millwall) had a reserve game away at Cardiff and I had a message from Kevin Pressman asking if I’d be interested in a loan move to Scunthorpe.

‘I’d been a bit frustrated at the start of the season not getting games at Millwall so as soon as the opportunity arose I jumped at it.’

33-year-old Mildenhall will spend the next month with The Iron and looks set to takeover from Sam Slocombe, who will probably pay the price for his error at the weekend in the FA Cup defeat against Gillingham.
