As he told the official website Alan Knill has ‘had a chat’ with Everton manager David Moyes about the possibility of bring Conor McAleny back to Glanford Park next season.

He knows that Everton will ‘probably want to see what happens to him in pre-season’ but was keen to ‘register an interest’ should the 19-year-old striker be available for loan again next term: ‘I spoke to David Moyes about him the other night.

‘It was just to try and gauge what his thoughts about him for next season were.

‘He is their player and they will probably want to see what happens to him in pre-season.

‘Only then will they decide if they want the younger players to go out on loan or not – but obviously we have registered an interest in him.’

McAleny is unlikely to get into the Everton first-team next season so another loan spell could benefit everyone.
