Scunthorpe are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Paddy Madden in the three nil victory over Colchester at the weekend at Glanford Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Madden was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Scunthorpe heaped further misery on Colchester United with a 3-0 win at Glanford Park, with Madden helping himself to a brace. The Iron had to wait an hour to break down the U’s, but the striker scored two in six minutes after Tom Hopper had broken the deadlock.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Madden for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Ian Lawlor (Bury), Stephen Hendrie (Southend United), Jake Wright (Oxford United), Moses Odubajo (Hull City), Anthony Knockaert (Brighton), Michael Mancienne (Nottingham Forest), Pelly Ruddock (Luton Town), Richie Wellens (Shrewsury Town), Will Buckley (Birmingham City), Sam Winnall (Barnsley), Paddy Madden (Scunthorpe United).

Manager – Kevin Nolan (Leyton Orient).
