The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Coventry City this weekend.

Scunthorpe United travel to Coventry City on Saturday January 30 for the game at the Ricoh Arena and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: James Linington
Linesmen: Andrew Newbold and Nigel Smith
Fourth Official: Wayne Barratt

Match Day referee Linington (Newport) has officiated one Scunthorpe game this season – the scoreless draw with Leyton Orient in December’s FA Cup clash. In that game he showed three yellow cards, two to Scunthorpe.

He has however already taken in 24 other matches so far in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he has handed out a total of 69 yellow cards and three red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Middlesbrough on October 24 with seven yellow cards shown.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
