Having returned to Scunthorpe for a second loan spell in the season just ended Alan Knill, as he old the official website, is not anticipating a third time.

Knill had spoken to Watford about the 27-year-old but they want to keep him so he will now pursue other options: ‘I was with Sean Dyche on Saturday and he said they plan to keep Dave there. At the end of the day he’s their player and that’s their choice.

‘But we have looked at other alternatives and are continuing to do so.’
