Scunthorpe United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Josh Morris in the five nil victory over Gillingham at the weekend at Glanford Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Morris was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘The stand-out result from the weekend was no doubt Scunthorpe’s 5-0 thrashing of Gillingham, with plenty of players staking their claim for inclusion. We’ve opted for Morris, who struck twice in the rout. The Iron are in formidable form at home, having not lost at Glanford Park since last December.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Morris for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Alex Cisak (Leyton Orient), Chris Lowe (Huddersfield Town), Louis Laing (Notts County), Scott Wootton (MK Dons), Tony McMahon (Bradford City), Josh Morris (Scunthorpe United), Gary Roberts (Portsmouth), John Welsh (Preston North End), Graham Carey (Plymouth Argyle), Oliver Burke (Nottingham Forest), Nicky Ajose (Charlton Athletic).

Manager Garry Monk (Leeds United).
