Craig Jones’ goal after 56 minutes ensured the U’s lead at Bury, but a strike from Josh Ruffles with two minutes to go ensured the match finished level.

It moved Oxford onto 50 points, one behind Scunthorpe on 51 and three behind leaders Chesterfield.

The Spireites, who visit Glanford Park in a top-of-the-table clash on Saturday, were also in action – recording a 3-1 win at Fleetwood in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy northern semi-final first leg.
