Alan Knill, as he told the official website, is hopeful that Scunthorpe can get Jamie Reckord back at Glanford Park next season.

The Iron manager knows that the relegation of Wolves from the top-flight coupled with the appointment of a new manager will probably mean the defender will be looked at in pre-season.

If the opportunity to bring back the 19-year-old next season presents itself though Knill will take it: ‘Jamie is a top player.

‘With Wolves having gone down and with a new manager coming in he has the chance to shine there.

‘I’m sure they will want to have a look at him in pre-season before they make any decisions on if he can go, but if they decide that he can go out then we would love to have him.’

Reckord made 17 appearances during his loan spell last season.
