Scunthorpe’s League 1 season continued with a disappointing defeat against struggling Blackpool at Glanford Park on Saturday.

Perhaps in the future, not that Scunthorpe will be happy about this, they’ll have a quiz question that asks who Blackpool ended a run without a win against stretching back some 24-matches and nine-months!

This side was, of course the Iron who were beaten one-nil by a Potts (35) goal in the first half, with this win also the visitors first away from Bloomfield Road since April….no, not this year! Last year, April 2014.

These were the match highlights.

You can see more like this on ScunthorpeUnitedFC.

The other results this weekend were as follows:-

Sat 5th September
Southend 2 – 1 Peterborough
Barnsley 1 – 2 Shrewsbury
Chesterfield 2 – 3 Wigan
Crewe 1 – 3 Swindon
Fleetwood 1 – 1 Rochdale
Gillingham 1 – 0 Doncaster
Oldham 1 – 2 Bradford
Scunthorpe 0 – 1 Blackpool
Walsall 0 – 1 Bury

Sun 6 Sep 2015
Burton 1 – 2 Coventry

Looking at these results, ahead of the fixture still to be played of course, the stand out ones have to be the wins for Southend and sadly Blackpool!

Southend’s two-one win at Roots Hall against Peterborough, the early game on Saturday on Sky Sports, saw the Shrimpers record a first win back in League 1 since winning the play-off final in dramatic fashion against Wycombe in May.

Scunthorpe are back in action this weekend with a League 1 game against Coventry at Glanford Park once more.
