Scunthorpe started life back in League One with a 2-1 home defeat against title favourites Leeds, despite taking the lead.

Izzy Iriekpen (28) thought that he had given the home side the lead, but his effort was ruled out. Enoch Showunmi then hit the post as Leeds hit back, he then felt an effort that was lost by Scunthorpe ‘keeper Josh Lillis had crossed this line, but this wasn’t given.

Summer signing Gary Hooper (57) gave the home side the lead, but this was short lived as Showunmi (61) also marked his Leeds debut with an equalizing goal. Both sides had chances to go onto win the match but it was the away side that managed this as Jermaine Beckford (80) followed up after David Prutton had hit the bar.

How disappointed are you with Scunthorpe’s defeat, especially after they led? Do you think this was a fair result?
