Scunthorpe United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Levi Sutton in the one nil victory over Bury at the weekend at Gigg Lane was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Sutton was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘A midfielder by trade, Sutton has moved seamlessly into the right-back slot at Scunthorpe United due to a number of injuries in that position, and he delivered another expert showing on Saturday. The 21-year-old demonstrated his abilities going forward alongside constantly stemming Bury`s attacking threat, and he was rewarded with a clean sheet and three points.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Sutton for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Brendan Moore (Rochdale), Joe Martin (Stevenage), Troy Brown (Exeter City), Anthony Stewart (Wycombe Wanderers), Levi Sutton (Scunthorpe United), Alex Rodman (Shrewsbury Town), Tarique Fosu (Charlton Athletic), Siriki Dembele (Grimsby Town), Jordan Roberts (Crawley Town), Charlie Wyke (Bradford City), Shaq Coulthirst (Barnet).

Manager – Kevin Nolan (Notts County).
