Scunthorpe United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performances by Ivan Toney in the one nil victory over MK Dons and the three one victory over Chesterfield in the weekend’s Easter double header was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Toney was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Scunthorpe United secured their place in the Sky Bet League One Play-Offs with consecutive victories, and Ivan Toney netted in both triumphs. After heading the winner against Milton Keynes Dons, the Newcastle United loanee added his 12th and 13th goals of the season in the 3-1 win over Chesterfield.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Toney for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.
