Scunthorpe warmed up for the FA Cup third round meeting with Chelsea this coming weekend with a draw with Wigan on Saturday.

The Iron had taken the lead but had to settle for a one-one draw (with the FA Cup winners from a few years ago) but this was a result that Kevin van Veen told the Official Website he believes was a fair result all things considered.

‘I thought it was a good result, we played very well. We deserved a point, maybe a little bit more but they got some dangerous balls into our box as well, so we’re happy with a point.’

Mark Robins gave the Dutchman a start with him adding he was happy to be involved from the off again and felt he ‘played well’ as did everyone else with himself along with Paddy Madden and Luke Williams ‘a threat’ with Wigan posed plenty of problems by the trio.

This point took the total to five from the last three-matches with van Veen finishing by talking about the current form with this positive to take into the game at Chelsea with him ready to go to Stamford Bridge ‘with no fear.’

‘I think it’s positive we got five points from three games. Maybe we could have won against Rochdale as well. But I think it’s positive form to take into Chelsea, and why not? They are human. It’s all new for me, and if I play I’ll just try to play with no fear.’
