Iron’s Irish midfielder Michael O’Connor admits he’s trying to stay positive, despite being ruled out for up to 2 months weeks with a knee injury.

The Northern Ireland international suffered a knee injury after a tackle in Thursday’s training session. He has made 27 appearances for the Iron this season, scoring 5 goals in the process.

Talking about his injury, O’Connor told Scunthorpe-United.co.uk;

“I was just in training on the Thursday, went in for a tackle and I felt my knee go.”

“I knew something was wrong straight away.

“I’m gutted that I’m going to miss such an important stage of the season.”

“The next 6 or 7 games are crucial in keeping the club in this league, but there is belief in the team that we can pick up points.”
