Out-of-favour Iron striker Andy Parton is a transfer target for Conference strugglers Scarborough.

The Yorkshire side have made an official enquiry to Scunthorpe for the young forward, who has dropped down the pecking order dramatically this season.

Andy Keogh and Billy Sharp are United’s first choice strike pairing, with Tommy Johnson and Steve Torpey – when he returns from a knee injury – likely to be picked ahead of him.

Manager Brian Laws was considering the bid on Wednesday, and a move to the Seadogs could go through ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Looks like Parton is staying for the time being though, does anyone else think he’d be as well being allowed to join Stalybridge (or anyone else) in January?
