Following the two previous postponments, both owing to frozen pitches – the Iron have successfully re-arranged their league game at home to Preston North End.

Scunthorpe’s attempt to do the double over the Lilywhites will take place on Tuesday 15th March.

The Lancashire-based club, currently managed by former Hull City gaffer Phil Brown: are the only Championship side who lie below the Iron in the league table at this moment in time.

Whether or not the Iron will still have a realistic chance of survival at the time of the game is another question: but there’s no doubt that the game against PNE will be absolutely vital nonetheless.
