Despite having been extensively linked away from Glanford Park; with Blackpool, Middlesborough & Leeds just 3 of the sides linked with him: it appears that Glasgow

“I’m just concerned about whether we’ll be able to replace him properly!”

Celtic may be on the verge of his capture.

It has been no state secret of Neil Lennon’s design to sign the Scunthorpe forward, whom has been in top form over the past two season for the Iron, and Lennon saw the hotshot play numerous times last season – including in the 4-3 defeat by Doncaster Rovers.

Whether or not Gary would be able to able to reproduce his Scunthorpe form in the Scottish Premier League & in Europe is a moot point however. But the longer this story drags itself on then it can only get worse for all concerned.

All interested parties were reputed to have baulked at Scunthorpe’s reputed £2.5m+ asking price.

But it is now believed that Celtic & the Iron are on the verge of agreeing a compromise fee around the £2m mark, possibly also involving add-ons depending on Gary’s success in the green & white hoops.

Any club interested would be no doubt lucky to sign the ex-Grays & Southend hitman : but for Scunthorpe’s sake, this episode needs to be sorted once and for all. And soon.

You make a great point here buddy. The media get hold of stories and without any consideration to how it will affect a player, run it all over the place, with of course their typical and normal fabrications added along the way. What this does to a player they have no concern. From all accounts this kid has promise and proven goalscorers can normally reproduce anywhere, with of course a few exceptions!! Ian Rush being the biggest! He was a goal machine at Liverpool, went to Juventus and I think I scored more goals than him! I hope the lad reached his potential and if he is going to, I hope he reaches it with Celtic and all concerned benefit.
