Scunthorpe left it late, very, very late in fact, on Tuesday but the most important thing was that we earned a point against relegation rivals Port Vale to leave us in control of our own destiny as far as League 1 survival goes.

Port Vale looked set to go away from Glanford Park with a one-nil win, a first win in eight-matches, but an equaliser in the fifth-minute of injury-time ensured that we drew one-one.

Duffy (43) just ahead of half time finished off a Collins knockdown to sent Port Vale into the break one-nil up.

We had chances to level, and top goalscorer Madden would have expected to do better with an effort he didn’t hit the target with, as defeat looked on…. That was until Wootton (90+5) came off the bench to grab a dramatic equaliser that would make it feel more like a win for us, and a defeat for Port Vale!

This draw keeps us in 17th, and just a point and a place above Port Vale, but most importantly four-points clear of the relegation zone.
